Change starts with you.

Taking the first step towards healing can feel overwhelming. When you are anxious, depressed or facing significant life challenges, making any decision can seem impossible.

Sometimes the only thing you can do is put one foot in front of the other. Reaching out to a therapist who can be an empathic and compassionate guide is your first step. Congratulations on getting here!

Psychotherapy (sometimes called “talk therapy”) is a way to help individuals navigate transitions, face challenges and cope with major crises. While talking through challenges has the potential to provide solutions and healing, my approach can also incorporate body-oriented techniques for resolving trauma.

Benefits of therapy can include reduced worry, stress and panic. I can help you to develop a more positive relationship with your thoughts and your body, bringing a greater sense of self-awareness and self-compassion. Therapy provides a safe space for you to slow down, reflect on your choices and move towards greater freedom in your life.

Therapeutic Approach

I strive to create a safe space for you to discover your strengths, explore your experiences and access your inner wisdom.

My approach to therapy is collaborative and continually informed and guided by research, training and education. I use an eclectic range of techniques such as Somatic Experiencing (a body-oriented approach to trauma and stress), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), solution focused therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), alongside supportive psychotherapy. My focus is on building a therapeutic relationship that is genuine and supportive, to help you create deep and meaningful change in your life.

My clients would describe my approach as gentle yet direct, with a touch of humour to ease the way. I guide you on your own path of healing by using solution-focused techniques that help you to gain insight and direction. I believe you are the expert of your own experience, and my role is to help you uncover your strengths and discover your innate wisdom. With incremental change, I can help you move from feeling stuck to realizing a better vision for your life.

Treatment Areas

Psychotherapy (sometimes called “talk therapy”) is a way to help individuals navigate transitions, face challenges and cope with major crises. While talking through challenges has the potential to provide solutions and healing, my approach can also incorporate body-oriented techniques for resolving trauma. I work with individuals confronting:

  • Trauma

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Operational Stress

  • PTSD

  • Relationship issues

  • Transitional times (job loss, career transition, separation and divorce)

  • Self-esteem

  • Loss and grief

  • Parenting concerns

What to Expect

Therapy is a relationship, and no two therapists are alike. It’s important to me that you feel comfortable and safe as we work together. During your sessions we will explore the emotional and personal issues you are facing and any goals you want to work towards. However, some clients are unsure of what they need from therapy and it can take time to build rapport. It is normal to feel this way, and I will encourage open and honest dialogue to ensure that your boundaries are respected. My approach is client-centred and collaborative.

Just as no two therapists are alike, no two clients’ needs are the same. The approach I use with you will be individually tailored for your situation. We will take time to explore the kinds of issues you are facing before deciding on a therapeutic approach that will work best for you.

How It Works

I work with clients on a weekly, bi-weekly and monthly basis. Some individuals begin with frequent appointments as they work through a crisis, and then move to monthly sessions. You may benefit from a condensed treatment plan or you may wish to continue therapy over the long-term. Your treatment plan will depend on your individual needs and can be adjusted at any point in the process. I can also provide you with tools and resources that you can use at home in between your sessions.

Check with your insurance provider to determine whether psychotherapy is covered by your policy. I am a registered professional with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Consultation with a psychologist can be arranged as needed. Receipts are provided after each appointment, following payment.

Your Investment

Choosing the right therapist is an important decision. If you’re trying to decide whether I’m the right fit for you, I would be happy to set up a brief consultation by phone.

Individual sessions are $185 per 50 minute session, and couples sessions are $280 per 75 minute session.

Cancellation policy: If an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, there may be a cancellation fee charged.

A missed session (without prior notice) may be subject to the full session fee.
